Home / Facade Insulation
Insulating a facade is a key step in improving a building’s energy efficiency and making a home more comfortable. Well-constructed insulation reduces heat loss, which leads to lower heating and cooling costs, and contributes to the building’s overall energy efficiency. Nowadays, when reducing the carbon footprint is becoming increasingly important, facade insulation becomes not only an investment in comfort, but also in an ecological future.
How does the façade insulation process work?
The process of insulating the facade begins with a thorough assessment of the technical condition of the building. It is necessary to identify any damage that may need to be repaired before proceeding with the insulating work. Then, the surface of the facade is carefully prepared: cleaned, repaired and smoothed to ensure proper adhesion of the insulation material.
The next step is the installation of the insulation system, which most often consists of a layer of insulation material (such as Styrofoam, mineral wool or PIR panels), adhesive, reinforcing mesh and a plaster or finishing layer. The insulation material is attached to the walls with adhesive and any mechanical dowels to ensure its stability and durability.
Once the insulation is attached, the entire surface is covered with a reinforcing mesh that is embedded in the adhesive layer. This provides additional strength and resistance to damage. Finally, a layer of plaster or other finishing material is applied, which not only gives an aesthetic appearance, but also protects the insulation from weathering.
Insulating the facade is an investment that brings long-term benefits in the form of lower energy bills, improved thermal comfort and increased property value. Professionally performed insulation protects the building from heat loss, while protecting it from moisture and other harmful external factors.
